Online cross-institutional platform nextmuseum.io is accepting submissions for the exhibition Welcome to Heaven. The curators are looking for dystopian and psychedelic works that fit into the narrative structure of the exhibition. Deadline is 05 August. Read more and submit an artwork here.

Culture Resource invites cultural actors, artists, writers and podcasters at any stage of their career from the Arab region to apply to the second round of Mudawanat, a project aiming to produce podcasts focused on the arts and culture sectors in the Arab region. K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg is offering eight-month residencies to emerging choreographers. The residency includes mentoring and dramaturgical, technical, and production support and will lead to the development of a full-length piece that will be presented at the end of the residency on three evenings. Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics is accepting applications for the INHABIT Artist in Residence Program. Artists from various disciplines are invited to collaborate with their team of scientists and researchers in 3-month residencies to develop existing projects or create new work. Located in Potsdam, the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) invites individuals from a wide range of sectors and at all career stages to apply for the institute’s Fellow Programme. The projects submitted must be related to one of the current research areas of the IASS and Fellows are expected to work in collaboration with each other and with IASS researchers. ZOETROPE is an artist-run space in Athens dedicated to contemporary photography, artists' books and film. They are currently accepting proposals for artistic, theoretical, educational, community or other events and projects that could be incorporated in ZOETROPE’s program during autumn and winter 2020-2021. hungry eyes festival invites artistic works that are situated at the intersection of film, performance and installation art and question film in an interdisciplinary way. Short film series, performative and installation works are welcome. Deadline is 31 August. Submit your work here.

HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme is seeking individuals active in the field of art and research and interested in traveling and the environment, to form a group that will take a Long-distance & Land-Based Trans-Siberian railway trip — from Finland going through Russia and China to Japan. The Syros International Film Festival (SIFF) invites filmmakers and artists working with sound and moving image to participate in Peripheral Vision: Repurposing the Archive, a workshop focusing on the development of projects based on archival materials. Engaging with the festival's theme “Off Season'', the workshop will include both online and in-person sessions and the projects will be presented at the SIFF 2021. Deadline is 31 August. Photography platform The Provinces is currently accepting submissions for its 2020-21 programme by artists who use photography to record aspects of the Greek countryside. Deadline is 31 August. Read more here.

Hadassah-Brandeis Institute invites artists to submit new or existing work for the 2021 HBI Artist Program prominently in a digital, online or remote format. The works should propose fresh ideas on Jews and gender and proposals that emphasize the experiences of Jews of color are encouraged. Deadline is 01 September. Read more here.

Luminous Eye invites photographers-artists — professionals or amateurs — to submit works for an international group exhibition entitled Inwards – Life on pause as a starting point for transformation. The exhibition will be held first on the Luminous Eye website and at the Luminous Eye space in Athens, after the lifting of the restrictive measures. Deadline is 01 September. Apply here.

The Japan Media Arts Festival is now accepting submissions for its 24th edition. Artists of all nationalities and at any stage of their career are invited to submit works for the festival's four divisions: Art, Entertainment, Animation, and Manga. Deadline is 04 September. Poets, filmmakers, video and digital artists, media and performance artists are invited to submit work to the 9th annual International Video Poetry Festival in Athens, Greece. The IVPF strongly considers artwork that examines and challenges traditional visual communication methods while continuing to function as a tool for exploring poetry. Deadline is 27 November.
