Here's a list of current open calls for artists, curators, writers and others by art spaces, magazines and organisations in Greece and abroad. The list is sorted by application deadline.


n gallery is organising a call for artists, thinkers and scholars from all disciplines to collaborate from a distance and produce new works, which will be presented online. The open call covers three categories: composers and performers, sound and other arts, open submissions. The deadline has been extended to 15 April. Read the full announcement and how to apply here.

The Bagri Foundation is launching a series of online public commissions, with an open call to artists from Asia or the Asia diaspora. Deadline is 17 April. Read the full announcement here.

The Onassis Stegi Upper Stage is looking for art proposals by artists who operate in the borders of theater, dance, music, performance, visual arts, and their hybrid combinations – regardless of their nationality and field of artistic practice. Onassis AiR invites artists, curators, designers, activists, collectives, filmmakers, educators, lawyers, performance makers, economists, agitators of institutional models, philosophers, and other practitioners to apply for its Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 programme. Artworks now accepts applications for its 2020 fellowship awards in the following categories: visual arts, moving image, dance and curation. Only people of Greek nationality may apply. The deadline has been extended to 26 April. Read the full announcement here.

Submissions are open for Reclaim Award, which organises an open-air exhibition on billboards in Cologne, Germany. Deadline is 27 April. Read more here.

The European Cultural Foundation has announced an open call for its Culture of Solidarity Fund. The Fund supports imaginative cultural initiatives that, in the midst of the global pandemic crisis reinforce European solidarity and the idea of Europe as a shared public space. space52 is preparing a series of online exhibitions with artworks created during the COVID-19 quarantine. The deadline is 30 April. Read the submission guidelines here.

Bienalsur is now accepting proposals from artists and curators for its 2021 edition. The deadline is 30 April. Read more here.

Lungs magazine is now accepting submissions for its fourth annual issue by early-career photographers (or artists who work with lens-based media), poets and writers from the African diaspora. Deadline is 30 April. Read the full guidelines here.

Baron magazine is now accepting submissions for the Baron Prize, which commends the work of artists and photographers who have produced projects investigating sex and sexuality and identity politics. Deadline is 30 April. Read the full announcement here.

Artqol has announced an open call for an online international exhibition for artists working with issues relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. Deadline is 30 April. Read more here.

Live Works vol.8 is accepting proposals from performance artists and researchers. The announcement is open to a wide range of performative actions, also including sound and new media arts, text-based performances, lecture performances, multimedia storytelling, choreographic practices, relational and workshop-based projects, and other projects questioning the idea of performativity beyond the body. Taepyung Salt Farm X LAMPLAB are inviting artists working in photography, video, installation, sculpture, and sound to submit for a series of residencies and juried exhibitions that will take place in 2020-21 in South Korea. Deadline is 03 May. Read the full open call here.

Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden is offering a six-month residency to one artist in 2021. The proposed work should should focus on the interface between art and science/scholarship, explicitly artistic intelligence and its implications for society and the culture of objects. Phoenix Athens non-profit gallery is organising an online programme for artists called Art Instead. There is currently no deadline for submissions. Read the announcement here.
