Void presents the French artist Stéphane Charpentier for the first time in Athens. A photographic installation will take over Void’s space under the title “The Core". The installation presents variations of a cluster of high-rise buildings as a metaphor of a human habitat that evokes feelings of solitude and dystopian energy. High contrast black and white pictures of these buildings are installed opposite a series of evanescent portraits, stunned presences, faces seemingly hypnotized by a blinding blaze.

Stéphane Charpentier engages in an introspective photographic language and builds long-term analog series, creates experimental videos, short artistic films, installations and music videos.

He collaborates with various musicians and took part to the creation of the band Oiseaux-Tempête, which the first album was inspired by trips in Greece. Since 2013, he curates and promotes the Temps Zero performances - collective photo & film projections & live improvised music - around Europe.

Stéphane Charpentier lives in Athens since 2015.

Void’s space is transformed into a photographic darkroom open to the public. The artist will make analog prints on 50x60cm silver baryta paper. Live-streaming of the event will be through Void’s website.
