STARTS Regional Center, Piedmont launches the STARTS Prize for Social Good aiming to support and give visibility to researches and productions at the intersection of science, technology and the arts. People of any nationality, residing in a European Union member State, are invited to apply regardless of their professional background. Deadline is 07 April. Read more and apply here.

Artists and collectives may submit proposals through an open call for the upcoming collective exhibition But these forms need to be created, which will take place at the Khalil Sakakini Cultural Centre in Ramallah, Palestine. The open call is addressed to visual artists, cultural practitioners, collectives and activists within co-operatives to learn from the different forms of self-organization that are founded on solidarity, cooperation and symbiotic relationships. Driving the Human invites designers, artists, scientists, initiatives, and agents from any field of expertise, to submit projects combining science, technology, and the arts in a transdisciplinary and collaborative approach. The works proposed should engage with the present and propose alternatives to current developments and disruptions in society and the environment. Deadline is 09 April. Apply here.

Shedhalle and the Mahler & LeWitt Studios, Spoleto, Italy, are launching 'the SHED’, a 30 day in-studio residency program during which performance artists are invited to share aspects of their practice in a digital platform programmed by artist Michelangelo Miccolis. The call is open to artists of any age or nationality and at any stage in their careers, but who are not currently in higher education. Read more and apply here.

Lycabettus Festival invites artists or groups to propose works for its 2nd edition taking place in May in Strefi and Lycabettus hills in Athens, Greece. The participating artists and groups should be available for a number of in-person group meetings prior to the performance dates. Deadline is 12 April. Read more here (Greek language only)

The Social Art Award 2021 is launched by the Institute for Art and Innovation to award works focusing on the theme “New Greening” providing hopeful prospects towards green, regenerative societies. There are no restrictions based on gender, age, training or nationality. Deadline is 15 April. Read more here.

LOOP invites multidisciplinary artists to explore and widen the meaning and process of creating a sense of place, by commissioning the production of a video artwork set in one of the following cities: Barcelona, Bologna, Brussels, Lisbon, Ljubljana or Nicosia. The call is open to all professional artists residents of the European Union. Deadline is 15 April. More information can be found here.

Big Pulse Dance Alliance (BPDA) is inviting expressions of interest for the development of portable, ecologically aware choreographic ideas that will tour around Europe. The call is aimed at small creative teams of up to six people that will create works open to the involvement of local participants. Deadline is 16 April. Application information can be found here.

SNEHTA, Athens, has announced WALKING BACKWARDS, its first funded exhibition opportunity open to emerging artists of all nationalities and from any artistic background. There is a small admin fee to be paid per submission. Deadline is 18 April. Read more here.

UNESCO invites postgraduate researchers under the age of 35 to apply for the 2021 ‘Silk Roads Youth Research Grant’. The research grants will be awarded to projects that further the study of the Silk Roads' heritage, while multidisciplinary and multidimensional proposals and a wide array of research fields are eligible. POLDRA, Public Sculpture Project Viseu, Portugal, is promoting the creation of a public contemporary sculpture route within the city of Viseu, and is currently accepting proposals for works designed for the Mata do Fontelo urban woods. The selected proposals will benefit from financial support covering both the author’s fee, accommodation and travel costs, as well as, production costs. Deadline is 18 April. Apply here.

Siobhan Davies Studios invites movement practitioners and dance artists of any age and at any stage of their career who want to share experiences of working within local communities for its forthcoming program called Both/And. The program aims to promote encounters between artistic and community practices offering time and resources. Deadline is 19 April. Read more here.

Homeostasis Lab is seeking works belonging to any form of net art or digital art for its virtual platform dedicated to mapping, cataloging, researching and exhibiting digital art on the internet. Three awards will be offered by the curatorial team for the most innovative works. There is no limit of works to be submitted per artist. Deadline is 20 April. Submit your works here.

Studio Teatar and LOOP invite artists within the field of performing arts to apply for the international public space performance workshop A Beloved Enemy that will take place in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzehovina, in July 2021. Twenty selected participants from different countries and artistic disciplines will artistically explore multiple locations of Zenica for eight days, leading to a series of public space performances that will take place on the opening night of Summer Nights Festival of Studio Teatar. DOGO Residenz für Neue Kunst offers 18 places for artists in residence who will be creating works on the current theme of 'Home'. The selected artists will be participating in DOGO Totale annual exhibition in November. Deadline is 30 April. Read more here.

The 22nd Triennale Grenchen 2021 launches the 'Mini Print' Competition 2021 to promote artistic activities in the field of xylographic printing. The current theme is 'Time without Time' and works submitted should be printed in black and white on any medium in the technique of xylography. Deadline is 30 April. The International Elias Canetti Society, Ruse, Bulgaria, invites artists from all over Europe, the Western Balkans and Turkey to apply for its one-month artist in residency scholarship program, “Sharing Future”. The call is open to various art forms and backgrounds. Deadline is 30 April. Apply here.

CAHIER d'images publishes booklets by contemporary artists and is currently seeking photographic works in black and white in collaboration with guest curator Eliana Morte. Deadline is 02 May. Apply with your work here.

The REAKTOR, Vienna, launches an open call for concepts entitled Potenziale and designed to seek out the potential in the visual arts. The selected proposals will be implemented during a one-week residency in summer 2021 and then showcased as part of an exhibition in October 2021. Deadline is 31 May. Apply with your concept here.

For its 12th edition, the Athens Ethnographic Film Festival is seeking ethnographic and anthropological films, as well as ethnographically-minded documentary films. Anthropologists, social scientists, documentary filmmakers or students are invited to apply. The films submitted should respond to one of the four open sections; Student Films, Panorama, Filmic Experiments in Ethnography and this year’s Themed Section “Romanticism: Cameras, Enchantment and the Real“. The Journal of Greek Media & Culture has issued an open call for its open-themed issue 8.1 (spring 2021). The editors invite contributions on any topic related to the media and/or culture of Greece, from a contemporary or historical perspective and from a multiplicity of disciplinary and theoretical viewpoints. Independent journal A) GLIMPSE) OF) is accepting submissions for the issue The Junta Trap. The issue will highlight violations of human rights, police violence and state control of the media in Greece. The editor is looking for poems and artworks in solidarity to those who resist. Zhejiang Conservatory of Music accepts applications for the 2021 Hangzhou Contemporary Music Festival "Artinno Award" International Orchestral Composition Competition. Prices will be awarded to six orchestra pieces from young composers, under 40 years old, from around the world. Deadline is 15 July. Read more here.

C-PLATFORM invites artists, curators, designers and other creative practitioners to apply for its residency program at the Xi·Art Museum located in Lucitopia Town, Fuzhou City, China. The projects should respond to the current theme 'Fantasy Land'. Deadline is 31 July. Apply and read more here.

Goethe-Institut created a virtual residency program to provide funding for international musical collaboration projects. The residency aims to support solo artists and small ensembles from Germany and abroad working on joint research, compositions, concept and project development, pre-productions or innovative online projects. The Onassis Foundation has launched the Emergency Fellowships 2020/21 program for artists and curators of all nationalities to provide support through volatile situations around the world, time-sensitive artistic research, or unanticipated professional needs. The fellowship consists of a stipend, as well as support from the Οnassis AiR team. Selection is done on a rolling basis throughout the year. Read more and apply here.

PS:, an artist-run space in Athens, has issued an open call for works made during the past year for an exhibition that will take place when art spaces in Athens are finally allowed to open. There is no deadline mentioned. Read more here.
