Panagiotis Koulouras at Eleftheria Tseliou Gallery

06.02.2019

Eleftheria Tseliou Gallery is happy to present Panagiotis Koulouras’ second solo show with the gallery, under the title ‘Notes for the Kore’. The show opens on Thursday, February 7 and will be on display till the 9th of March 2019.
Panagiotis Koulouras in this show paints weeds, and this way creates a world of calmness, where value derives from what is little. The simplicity that comes with the use of watercolor, along with his impressive craftsmanship, direct our gaze towards a not so obvious space, which is defined by the qualities we choose to see.

As Koulouras mentions in his text for this exhibition: ‘Personally, I felt fulfillment in the view of a weed that can grow anywhere, in the most difficult conditions, in the view of nothing, which you either pass by or you choose to see. That is exactly why I have nothing to say, except that I remember a scene in a movie, where a warrior, right before the battle, stands in front of a cherry tree and tells his opponent that he could spend his life looking at its cherry blossom without ever feeling that he is wasting a single moment.’
